Toxic and Traumatic Injuries of Ocular Surface

Objectives: Upon completion of this conference the resident/student should have an understanding of toxic and traumatic injuries of the anterior segment and should be able to:

  • Discuss wound healing of the conjunctiva, cornea & sclera
  • Discuss the pathophysiology, clinical features & management of Injuries caused by:
    • Temperature and Radiation
    • Chemicals
    • Medications
    • Animal and Plant Substances
    • Blunt trauma
    • Nonperforating mechanical trauma
    • Perforating trauma
    • Surgical Trauma
