Objectives: Upon completion of this conference the resident/student should have an understanding of primary open angle glaucoma and normal tension glaucoma and should be able to

  • Describe the
    • Clinical features, associated disorders and prognosis of Primary Open Angle Glaucoma
    • Clinical features, differential diagnosis, diagnostic evaluation, therapy and prognosis of Normal Tension Glaucoma
    • Definition of and management of Glaucoma Suspect

  • Describe the purpose, methods, results, and conclusions of four major glaucoma studies:

    • Collaborative Initial Glaucoma Treatment Study (CIGTS)
    • Ocular Hypertension Treatment Study (OHTS)
    • Early Manifest Glaucoma Trial (EMGT)
    • Advanced Glaucoma Intervention Study (AGIS)
