Contact Lens Optics Part 2

Objectives: At the conclusion of this conference the resident will have an understanding of the principles of contact lens optics and will be able to solve optics problems that involve

  • Vertex distance conversions
    • ability to ray trace vertex distance conversions
    • ability to calculate far points and changes in far points related to lens placement
    • ability to calculate, describe and compare vertex distance conversions with plus and minus lenses
  • Lens effectivity
    • ability to calculate, describe and compare lens effectivity with plus and minus lenses
  • Accommodation
    • knowledge of basic definitions
    • ability to calculate and ray trace accommodative problems/scenarios
