Objectives: Upon completion of this conference the resident/student should be able to:
- Describe the clinical approach to the patient with pupillary disorders including:
- anisocoria
- irregular pupils
- light near dissociation
- afferent pupillary defect
Assignment: Please read Chapter 10 The Patient with Pupillary Abnormalities.
In addition, it will be helpful to review:
- Chapter 1: Neuro-ophthalmic Anatomy, the section on "Ocular Autonomic Pathways"
- Chapter 3: The Patient with Decreased Vision: Evaluation, the section on "Pupillary Testing"
