Diagnostic Case Conference - Corneal Imaging Cases

Objectives: Upon completion of this conference the resident/student should have an understanding of corneal imaging and be able to:

  • Discuss the basic principles of corneal imaging techniques including
    • Specular photomicroscopy
    • Anterior segment echography
    • Confocal Microscopy
    • Measurement of corneal topography using
      • Keratometry
      • Computerized corneal topography
      • Wavefront analysis

Assignment: Please read the sections on Anterior Segment Photography and Measurement of Corneal Topography in Chapter 2 Examination Techniques for the External Eye and Cornea in the Cornea section of the BCSC series.

Assignment: Please read Chapters 1, 3, 6 and pages 223-227 in the BCSC Refractive Surgery Text
