Guest Speaker Grand Rounds - Birdshot Retinochoroiditis

Dr. Westcott is a consultant ophthalmologist in the uveitis service at Moorfields, and heads the glaucoma service of the Royal London Hospital. His resident training was in London, and he is dual fellowship trained in medical retina and glaucoma with fellowship training at Moorfields and the UCLA Stein Eye Institute.  

Dr. Westcott has authored or co-authored over 65 peer reviewed scientific papers and presented over 30 times at national and international meetings. He is a reader (‘Associate Professor’) at Queen Mary University of London. He continues to play an active role in research. His research interests are mainly clinical, and include uveitis, glaucoma, and cataract surgery outcomes. He is an expert reviewer for several journals. He is also a co-author of a popular resident textbook ‘Uveitis: Understanding the Grape’.

Dr. Westcott lives in Central London with his wife and two sons.  When not in the clinic, he enjoys playing tennis, travel and amateur astronomy.
