Dr. Jayakrishna Ambati will present," Diced Alu: Canning the Blinding Inflammasome" at the14th Annual John C. Crano Lecture, Scholars in Vision Science Seminar Series on Friday, September 4, 2014 at 12:00 pm in the BST S 120. 

Dr. Ambati is a Professor and Vice Chair of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Professor of Physiology, Dr. E. Vernon Smith & Eloise C. Smith Endowed Chair at the Univeristy of Kentucky. Dr. Ambati’s scientific aspirations are to identify the molecular mechanisms underlying the development of AMD, determine the triggers of the angiogenic switch that converts this disease from an atrophic to a neovascular phenotype, and to develop novel therapeutics to prevent and treat this blinding condition.
