Vision Research and Alumni Days

The UPMC Eye Center will hold its annual Vision Research Days on Thursday June 16 and Friday June 17,  2010 at the University Club in Oakland. This year, in addition to presentations by our residents, fellows and graduate students we are looking forward to presentations by our alumni.

The Susruta Lecture will be given by Dr Thomas Harbin MD MBA .

Dr Harbin is the author of Waking Up Blind: Lawsuits over Eye Surgery and The Student Doctor Network What Every Doctor Should Know..But Was Never Taught in Medical School. Dr. Tom Harbin received his MD from Cornell Medical and trained in ophthalmology at the Wilmer Institute of Johns Hopkins. He has been practicing ophthalmology with a specialty in glaucoma for over thirty years and is a Clinical Professor Emeritus at Emory University. He is former President of the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology and was a member of the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
