Dear Residents,
In lieu of an extended optics lecture schedule (for which there isn’t time, as the OKAP exam was moved earlier this year), or bringing in a guest to lecture on optics on a weekend (which we have done before), you will be given guided reading assignments to be completed over the next few months, followed by a short series of lectures. It is hoped that by preparing before the course, you will all be able to master the basic concepts and learn how to do problems efficiently during the lecture block, which is March 12-15. The reading assignments are below, and attached please find the first set of questions.
When you are finished with each set, please email me your answers. When I have received everyone’s answers, I will send out the answer key. I will try to get ahead with creating the questions, so that you can work ahead if you like. The due dates are listed below. The questions are based entirely on the Guyton text. Please email me with questions. You may feel free to work on these in groups, provided everyone turns in answers separately.
